PTT Paddle for the Yaesu FT-891

The Yaesu FT-891 comes with a hand held mobile style microphone. I have never had any issues with it; but, in the shack I like to use a studio style mic. The PTT is built into the the original mic; so, a PTT paddle or button was required to activate the radio.

The paddle base is printed with black PLA.

Magnets are used as the spring.
The contacts used are brass and provide a large surface area to make contact.

The PTT Paddle is designed so the length of push and tension can be adjusted.
A standard 3.5 mm stereo jack is used for the connector.

Shipments of plastic were running behind due to a hurricane. Since I was running low on black plastic, glow in the dark was used for everything except the base.

The PTT Paddle worked great. The wide area on the paddle makes it easy to use. It is nice to be able to adjust the paddle, this makes it very comfortable to operate with. Overall the paddle worked great.
