Many modern transceivers are compact and use menus to change settings. This saves a lot of space but can make it difficult to change settings quickly. With a computer and CAT Control software this is easily overcome.
There are a lot of different programs available on the web. The Yaesu FT-891 has advanced CAT Control available and I wanted to take advantage of this. TRX-Manager is capable of this so I downloaded the demo. After trying the software out, I decided to purchase it.

This screenshot is for the Yaesu FT-891.

The Demo version will work for 30 minutes, then will not send commands to the radio. If you close the program and reopen, control will be regained. The cost to purchase the program is $75. This includes 3 years worth of updates. With it being compatible with nearly 150 transceivers and all the features, I feel this is a far price. So far I am very pleased with this program and as I explore different features of it more posts will be made.
