Another Knot to Help With Antennas, The Figure 8 Loop

The Figure 8 Loop can be used for the same purposes as the Man Harness Hitch but is much stronger. The Figure 8 Loop is more trustworthy when working with heavier loads. The more tension placed on this knot the tighter it gets. This can make it a bit difficult to untie.

First make a loop in your rope. Make sure it is long.

Bend it around and form another loop.
Go under the rope.

Take the end and pass it through the last loop made. At this point the knot will look like the number 8.
Tighten down and dress the knot. In a properly dressed Figure 8 Knot, the rope from the first loop should run parallel to itself through the knot. This helps strengthen the knot.
