A Knot That Helps With Antenna Guy-wires

Taut-Line Hitch

While operating portable and camping, it seems like I’m constantly having to adjust guy wires on antennas and shelters. There is someone always tripping on ropes. With the Taut-Line Hitch it’s easy to adjust and get back to making contacts. This knot holds very well and if done properly is reliable.

Wrap around a stake or an eye in your tarp.

Bring rope on top of itself.
Bring rope over itself inside the loop.

Go around again and cross over your loops.
Lock your rope through your cross over and you have a nice adjustable knot.
