The 6m Delta loop built several months back has performed very well. It had to be brought down while maintaining another antenna and I decided to improve the connection between the radiating element and matching section. The terminal strip works well but it is difficult to keep water out of the connections. To fix this, I decided to make a small enclosure for the connection.

For more details on construction of the 6m Delta loop click this link.

The enclosure is designed with the antenna connections built in to it. This helps to keep it more compact and also helped strengthen the enclosure.

The walls of the enclosure are 3 mm thick to add strength.

Stainless steel screws are used to make the connections in the enclosure. Noalox anti oxidant compound was used in the connection point to help prevent corrosion.

Before inserting the cables in their hole, weather sealant putty was wrapped around the cable. When the cable is inserted in the hole, the weather sealant is forced in the space around the cable. Testing will be done to verify the SWR is still good. Once the SWR is verified the enclosure will be filled with a compound used the seal underground cable spice cases.
